PORT HARCOURT: Today, the Rt. Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo-led Rivers State House of
Assembly issued invitations to screen the Caretaker Committee, CTC, Chairmen, and
members for the state's 23 local governments. This came after the elected
chairman and councillors of the state's 23 LGAs completed their terms. Sir Sminialayi
Fubara, the state's governor, asked the Heads of Local Government Administration
on Tuesday, following the expiration of the LGA's tenure, to assume leadership of their
councils until further instructions. The development produced an issue, with the
Fubara nominated 23 caretaker chairmen for LGAs in Rivers.
