EFCC operatives caught on camera allegedly breaking into houses in Benue

 

Some EFCC authorities were caught on camera allegedly breaking into homes in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to journalist Pidom Nigeria, who reported the story on Twitter, the house's

The journalist wrote:

EFCC @officialEFCC operatives were caught on camera breaking into people's homes in

 Makurdi, Benue. The EFCC's lawlessness has taken on a new dimension. "The most raising thing about these break-ins is that some of

 the occupants are not even at home, but the EFCC @officialEFCC broke into their homes like criminals. Even if you are not present,

 EFCC officers can enter your home, take down your doors, and break in without a warrant or court order.

There has been a growing trend of the EFCC conducting unprofessional home invasions without court orders or search warrants,

 leading to complaints among Nigerians. Reacting to the complaints, the EFCC said it is legal for its operatives to break into any

 house if suspects resist arrest. According to section 12(2) of the act, law enforcement officers have the right to enter any house forcefully as long as the suspect is confirmed to be there.
