The court denied suspended officer Abba Kyari bail after granting him a temporary two-week bail of N50 million.
Abba Kyari, the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, has returned to

prison after being denied bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja. Abba Kyari, along with

two other top police officers, faces drug-related charges. Justice Emeka Nwite denied

bail, citing the defendants' failure to produce adequate evidence to warrant the

court's discretion in granting release. The trial judge emphasised the need of using the court's discretion carefully, which led to the

decision not to issue bail to the defendants. This decision comes after Kyari was

previously given a two-week temporary bail of N50 million with an agreement in the same amount to attend his late mother's burial.
