Burna Boy joins Wizkid and receives plaque for one billion streams in the UK.

Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, often known as Burna Boy, shows disappointment after collecting a BRIT plaque for achieving one billion streams in the United Kingdom two years later. In appreciation of his achievements, the 'African Giant' musician received a BRIT plaque at his sold-out gig at the London Stadium on Saturday night.
However, the singer protested the award while emphasizing it being a stale recognition from over two years ago when he hit the milestone. “What I want to know is why I’m getting this? Why not add all of them together; a bigger one. This was two years ago; nawa for una o. You people should update but I appreciate it,” he stated. It is worth noting that he joins fellow Nigerian artist Wizkid as one of the only African artists to have over a billion streams in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Burna Boy holds the record for the highest-peaking African album on the UK chart, with his sixth studio album ‘Love, Damini’ topping the chart in July 2022. Following his sold-out show on Saturday, Burna Boy also became the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium twice.
