Chief Edwin Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South leader, has asked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Iliya Damagun, to show the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Nyesom Wike, a way out of the party in order for it to survive. Clark, in an open letter to the PDP's Acting National Chairman, revealed how the former Governor of Rivers State is reportedly leveraging his personal relationship with President Bola Tinubu to frighten the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the party.
The chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), who read the letter during a press event at his Asokoro residence in Abuja on Tuesday, stated that he could not stand by and allow the minister to continue to harass the governor. The leader of the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum, SMBLF, who stated that he was already a politician before Wike was born, told Damagun that if they do not stop the minister, that it will consume him, Wike, and his cohorts.
Clark, who revealed that he was writing a book titled "PDP: to be or not to be," claimed that after criticising former Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), and Ben Ayade (Cross River) for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wike is now "dancing naked" with the same ruling party.
After admitting that former Rivers State governor Peter Odili and his wife made him who he is today and will always be grateful to them, he is now criticism them. "I won't let him destroy Rivers State," Clark stated. He claimed that after failing for using the APC to undermine the PDP, Wike is now turning the party against itself.
