Big Sean, an American rapper, has explained why he did not marry singer Jhené Aiko after eight years of dating. Sean told Charlamagne tha God on his 'Out of Context' podcast last Friday that he is still not ready to marry his long-time fiancée because "there's a lot of work that needs to be done." He explained, "It's a little personal, you know? To be honest, we've all had ups and downs in our relationships.
And I believe it is still finding the proper path through it all. To me, marriage represents the best connection. I would like to, and I don't enjoy having our personal information out there like that, but there is a lot of work to be done." Sean and Aiko have been dating on and off since 2016. When their relationship began, Aiko was married to producer Dot da Genius. She filed for divorce in August 2016, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. In November 2022, Sean and Aiko gave birth to their son, Noah. Aiko is also the mother of Namiko, her 15-year-old daughter with singer O'Ryan.
Sean previously proposed to his ex-girlfriend, Naya Rivera, in October 2013. However, the rapper and Naya, who died in 2020, called off their engagement six months later.
